Focused Fido has been providing comprehensive dog education to Dallas and North Dallas residents since 2017! We strive to provide rewarding and successful relationships and are honored to have such a thoughtful and loyal client base. We know that dog training is different for every family, which is why we offer several lesson options to choose from!

Lessons range from in-home sessions, field trips, group classes, and even virtual meetings!

  • The Mehaffey Family + Maeve

Rayne is a joy to work with! She has helped our 8 month old basset hound gain confidence with walking in the busy city, meeting new people with ease, basic commands, and more. She is easy to communicate with and is so knowledgeable about everything from training science to food and boarding recommendations and everything in between. She is gentle and truly cares for our pup and us.

I highly recommend working with her!

  • The duffy family + Winston

Rayne came highly recommended to us from other local certified canine trainers and behaviorists. We really liked the fact that she offers a day train option, as our dog Winston enjoys adventures out and about. Winston is a rescue from BRIT. He was showing signs of barrier frustration at dog daycare and was struggling to learn how to regulate himself at home in the evenings and in new environments. Winston has a very high prey drive and is obsessed over squirrels and birds. He has a tendency to become stressed in unfamiliar situations and at the vet. It was also a challenge to get him to settle when he was overstimulated. We was 'demand barking' for attention in the evenings, jumping on guests, screaming at squirrels in trees, pulling us into yards to chase squirrels, etc.

Rayne started working with Winston once a week in July of 2023 and will continue through the summer of 2024. Together, they have found peace and balance in Winston's daily routines, while also helping him to have less anxiety in new situations. With Rayne's help, Winston has learned to find places and ways to settle on his own, to pull less on leash, to remain calm when seeing squirrels and other moving creatures, and to greet people politely. The work Rayne has done with Winston has not only helped him to be a happier dog, but has helped us to enjoy his company more and more.

On days when he has a day train scheduled, he is so satisfied from being challenged mentally. We love working with Rayne!

  • The Baker Family + Gia & Leo

We started using Rayne as a dog trainer for the two dogs that we rescued about a year ago. She has been great to work with and takes the time to understand your needs as a family. She used this understanding to build a flexible training program that is a realistic fit for our busy schedule. She now helps with walking our dogs on days when I have to be at the office all day. She continues to be proactive in offering additional training as she sees behavioral patterns that may need a little more work.

We love Rayne and appreciate how much she’s helped our two fur babies!

  • Ryann + Denver

Rayne is incredible! I have a year old German Shepherd who was absolutely petrified of cars. This meant no walks, no trips to the park, nothing. I could not even get her out the front door of the house without her having a full blown panic attack.

After training with Rayne, I can walk my dog down the street, she looks forward to going on walks, and has a lot more confidence when going new places - it’s amazing!!

Rayne is so patient with my pup, she changes lessons to make it unique for what my dog needs, and she has taught me how to continue training my dog!

    Could not recommend more!!!!!!

  • The Henslee Family + Pippa

We adopted Pippa during the quarantine summer, and Rayne had been an absolute godsend. As a trainer, she is deeply knowledgeable and clearly continues to learn about dog (and human) behavior. She is intuitive and is always so perceptive of what Pippa is going through and always has suggestions for ways to make improvements. She has a way of making you, the owner, feel like you are capable of working with your pet to have the kind of dog you want.

As a business owner, she is prompt, professional and extremely detailed. As a person, she is friendly, thoughtful and funny. I couldn’t recommend her more!

  • Shelby + Anna Kate & Kimber

I have a 6 year old corgi and a 1 year old corgi. The 6 yr old needed her manners brushed up on and had a serious problem with demand/attention barking that developed once we added the puppy to the family. The one year old needed training in all areas. We are still in the middle of our sessions but I have noticed a HUGE improvement in both girls. Rayne is prompt and professional, oh so patient and has a very flexible schedule.

She is great at not only teaching you how to reinforce and get the behavior your looking for but also always explains the “why” behind everything she teaches. My girls love her and we all look forward to our weekly sessions with her.

    Highly recommend!

  • The Burleson Family + Beau

I got a Frenchie puppy in April thinking how hard could be? Whelp! It is hard! I reached out on a dog mom group for recommendations and Rayne’s name was mentioned several times! Rayne met us to discuss our expectations, what we would like to accomplish, how much time we spend at home/work, ect. She gave us so many helpful hints of how to grow our relationship with our puppy and teach him good habits! She is very flexible on times and choosing whether to work inside our home or train at the park.

Beau has received training on not jumping, polite greeting of guests, calming mechanisms, how to handle when he wants attention by doing something naughty, mat training, ect.

We have a customer of Rayne’s since June of 2021 and continue to be a customer! I highly recommend Rayne for any kind of puppy/dog training!

  • The Klines + Finn

Rayne is beyond fantastic. She is a game-changer when it comes to having a great life with your dog and she teaches you how to enrich your precious pup’s life. She is patient and really understands your needs and those of your dog. . .

    Rayne’s the best!

  • The Nachowiak Family + Callie

I cannot recommend Rayne enough. We have a now seven month old Golden Retriever who is scared of her own shadow and gets easily overstimulated. Rayne has worked with her and us to build her confidence. She is extremely patient and meets your dog where they are. She is knowledgeable and is always learning. She works with you and listens to your concerns and comes up with several options to help your dog be the best family member. I have a seven and five year old boys who are eager to train Callie. Rayne was so kind and worked with them on things they can do with Callie. Callie has gained great confidence and is much calmer than when we started.

You won’t be disappointed with Rayne!!

  • The Caruthers + Levi

We love Rayne for her knowledge and training techniques! She meets you where you are. We rescued Levi from a local nonprofit and needed help. I love that she comes on my schedule, whether it be daily, weekly, or monthly. Rayne is great at giving you written puppy recaps so you can read over what you learned and keep practicing the techniques.

I greatly appreciated when she gave me feedback on how to correct what I was doing so I was more confident and successful in training Levi. It is nice when puppies have manners. It’s a win-win!

what is positive reinforcement?

Positive reinforcement (R+), science based training means we focus on reinforcing the behaviors from our dogs we like and want to see more of. What gets reinforced gets repeated. We take a look at our clients goals, what that looks like for that family, and we teach the dogs and their humans how to achieve those goals.
