Day training and field trips
Day trains and field trips are a great opportunity for your dog to work one on one with a professional trainer. We provide pick up and drop off for any day training service. In addition to learning new cues and commands, this valuable experience will make it much easier for your pup to cope with new stimuli in the future!
Some places we may visit includes parks, coffee shops, patios, stores like (home depot), car rides, and more!

Day Train at your home:
Homework not getting done between sessions? Or perhaps your pup isn’t getting as much exercise or practice during the work week?
Day training at your home is a great way to offer an extra “tutoring session” for your pup to continue their training plan between private lessons.

What is a Sniff Walk?
Do you ever have those days where you feel restless, stressed, or anxious and no matter how hard you try you can’t relax? Your dog has those days too, especially if they spend a lot of time at home without activity. Running, playing, sniffing, digging, etc. are all ways your dog decompresses. Sniff walks are short, or long walks where you allow your dog to just be a dog. With minimal control, simply walk your dog and allow them to sniff, explore and interact with its surroundings. Even a short 10-minute sniff walk can do wonders for your dog’s well-being. You can thank us later!
What will my dog learn on a sniff walk?
Sniff walks are mainly all about the smells, allowing your pup to relax and decompress. However, we focus on the The Focused Fido Core 4 skills:
Attention- We practice a “check-in” skill and Name recognition,
Long Leash Skills- We teach your pup how to walk on a long lead ( 25 ft-50ft) without pulling,
Recall or Come when called , and Passing Distractions on the path.
During field trips, where will my dog ride in the car?
Focused Fido takes safety seriously when transporting pups! Depending on size, age, and your pup’s individual needs. We use crash-tested Ruffland Kennels or a Dog seatbelt and a car-safe harness when going to and from our sessions.
Where will the day training session be held?
Depending on your training goals and lesson plan, your pup may visit a number of places local to us in Collin county. Some places we may visit include parks, booking a Sniffspot ( this is a service that provides a private dog park for your pup to enjoy a good sniff, play and train without the dangers of a public dog park), coffee shops, patios, stores like (home depot), car rides, and more!
Why are field trips good for dog training & What are the benefits?
When exposed to new situations, it can be difficult to know how to react. That’s why when your dog sees things like other dogs, strangers, cars, crowds, etc, they may react in a way that’s unexpected.
Much like humans, the more experience your pet has with new situations, the more knowledge they have to draw on to know how to properly react.
